Welcome to our care package drop sponsor page.

There's much to see here. So, take your time, look around, and learn all there is to know about us and the work we do. We hope you enjoy our site and take the opportunity to sponsor a Drop.

Below is all the information with regards to sponsoring a care package drop.

who are we

The Knights Templar Goodwill Charity of Scotland (KTGCS) is a Charity based in Scotland and was founded by three Veterans in March 2021. We recently achieved our charitable status on the 11th of May 2022. Our Charity is run by a board of trustees and volunteers who want to help those in need in Scotland. All the money we raise stays here in Scotland. Who we help are our Veterans, the homeless, our senior citizens and those living in poverty here in Scotland.

What do we do?

Every quarter we distribute anything from X250 up to X300 Care Packages (CPs) around Scotland to our Veterans, the homeless, and those living in poverty. We also donate CPs to other charities with similar missions as our own thus we have built a fantastic network and friendships with these other amazing charities.

about our care packages

What goes into a Care Package?

We saw there was a great gap for those in need here in Scotland. We observed other homeless charities and how they assisted those in need and saw that they all had a focus on feeding the homeless and those less fortunate than ourselves. We decided we wanted to introduce something that would run alongside this and the idea of the CPs came about. With a lot of thought, we took an idea from the days when we served in the Armed Forces. Our CPs idea was one of when we had our wash kits and other items we thought were such a morale boost whether we were on exercise or active duty. We looked at this closely and came up with the following items in four categories, Hygiene, Comfort, First Aid, and Food.

Hygiene:

Soap, Toothbrush, and Toothpaste Face Cloth, Roll-on Deodorant.

Comfort:

Gloves, Woolie Hat, Boxer Shorts, and Socks.

First Aid:

Vaseline, Antibacterial Wipes, Foil Blanket.

Food:

Bottle, Water, Chocolate Bar, Cookies.

All these items are packed into a drawstring waterproof reusable bag.

These items as mentioned we're a great morale boost while in the field on exercise or active duty. Going sometimes days without a wash or brushing your teeth or putting on clean boxers and socks was a feeling hard to explain but felt great. Hats and gloves at night when it was cold brought great comfort and chocolate and biscuits were heavenly.  Sounds silly but trust me the feeling was one to experience.

where

These items as mentioned we're a great morale boost while in the field on Where do we distribute? We distribute all over Scotland and on every quarterly drop, we cover over 1000 miles around Scotland. We hit all the cities and have built a great network and friendships with other charities, trusts, and organizations.

why

Why do we do it? We are ex-servicemen of our Armed Forces. We have served Queen and Country without question. We were taught Loyalty, Love & Discipline and through our actions, we earned Respect, Trust & Honour. We respected the ethos, vows, ethics of do no wrong, protect the vulnerable, and principles of the original order of the Knights Templar. So we decided to bring this back into service but modernise it. One of our oaths is a simple but important one,

“Never look down on ANYONE, unless it is to help them up”.

It's our way of still serving our country, giving us veterans a purpose again, and trying to make our beautiful country an even better place to live. It's about helping our fellow Scots that have fallen on hard times. It's about giving those who are homeless a 2nd chance at life. It's about helping pull people out of poverty and standing them back on their own two feet again. It's about helping our Veterans who have given so much already to their country with no help in return. It's about taking care of our elders, It's about helping and caring for those who have slipped through the gaps in society or those who have been brushed aside.

Why should your company sponsor? We understand a lot of companies donate to charity every year, giving back to your communities and we understand that you may be inundated with charities or groups asking for help. But giving back to Scotland, helping so many people, our veterans, our homeless, those in poverty, and all the other charities that will be helped by one generous sponsorship in your company's name.

when

When do we do it? We do what we call "Drops" every quarter, at the end of March, June, September, and December which will be done this year. From December of 2021 to the present we have donated X782 to our veterans, our homeless, and those living in poverty. We could believe it ourselves as that's 782 people who we have helped and given that morale boost. This helps them in the four categories of Hygiene, Comfort, First Aid, Food, and also most importantly their mental health.

cost of a drop

To sponsor a Drop of X300 care packages costs £2000. This in the beginning was entirely funded out of our own pockets. Over time and now with our charity status and number we find ourselves in the position to ask for more help to help those in need. To some this is a large amount and we thought this at the beginning but the amount of people it helps in our communities it's worth every single penny. Every penny of the £2000 goes solely on the care packages so that we can maximise your donation. Your donation will help so many.

outcome

How do those in need benefit? We will and already have started to make a very positive difference to the quality of life of the people we help. We have had amazing feedback from the charities and organizations and fantastic feedback from those we have helped. They have praised our CPs and the work we have done. Not only do our CPs help with their hygiene and comfort but it helps with their mental health. It restores their self-worth and purpose, in some cases, it brings them back from the edge. It shows them that there are people who do care for them and are willing to be there when times are hard, to give them hope again. To us it's only a bag full of stuff we have an abundance of at home or we can easily nip to the shops to buy, but to them, it's a lifeline. Yes, we might not be able to help everyone, but we together can give it a good try. We can at least make a difference in the lives and families of the people we do.

How will your company benefit from this? By sponsoring a Care Package Drop your company can help tackle the fast-rising poverty issue Scotland is facing.

In return for your generous sponsorship/gift, we will make everyone aware that that drop was sponsored by you. We will also promote on all our social media platforms, or website, our flyers and every care package will include a flyer of thanks to your company for sponsoring that drop. We will also set up a full page on our website to promote your business with direct links etc. After the three months (quarter) your business/company will remain on our website on our sponsors and partners page with your logo and a direct link to either your website or social media.
